What is the Steiner Health Clinical Fellowship in Anthroposophic Medicine?
This is a clinical training opportunity for a recent residency graduate, a practicing anthroposophic physician or for a practicing physician transitioning from conventional medicine to anthroposophic medicine. The fellow will engage in all aspects of patient care, as well as learning the remedies, procedures and medicinal plants. Participation in educational programs for the community and assignments or research projects will accompany the training. This unique hands-on program will allow the physician to be mentored and to observe the work at the Rudolf Steiner Health Center in-patient center as well as outpatient clinical care. The fellow will also observe and understand a variety of therapies related to anthroposophic medicine as practiced at the Health Center during Retreat sessions.
Who is eligible to apply?
Applicants must have completed all requirements to be licensed in the State of Michigan as an MD or DO. The physician must be in good standing and show interest in pursuing anthroposophic medicine as a career path. Some prior understanding of the basic works of Rudolf Steiner is necessary, as well as an interest in studying the medical lectures and the path of personal development. Other training experiences should be mentioned in the application. Priority is given to those who will consider long term employment with Steiner Health.
Compensation
The position will be funded at $100,000 per year which will cover an $85,000 salary, employer’s portion of withholding taxes and a 3% employer contribution to a 403b account. The applicant will be an employee of Steiner Health and will receive 10 paid holidays and 3 weeks of vacation. Steiner Health will cover malpractice insurance and membership in the CSAM Patient Organization.
